CFA 시험 응시 자격

 

CFA Institute 홈페이지에 게시된 응시 자격은 다음과 같다.

•      Have a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree

◦      or be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program at the time of registration*

◦     or have four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related)

◦     or have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least four years. Part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment.

•      Make sure you understand the Professional Conduct Statement and Candidate Responsibility Statement.

•      Be prepared to take the exams in English.

•      Have a valid international travel passport (required for exam registration and admission to the test center)

*  Candidates with a degree in progress: If you initially enroll/register as a final year undergraduate student with a degree in progress, you may not register for the Level II exam until you have earned your degree, or obtained professional work experience that meets the program’s entrance requirements. When your degree is awarded, update your account education information to certify that your degree has been received.

그러니까,

1)  대학교 졸업생이거나, 또는
2)  Registration 시점에, 1년 이내에 졸업하는 4학년생이거나, 또는
3)  대학교에는 다니지 않았지만 4년 이상의 직장경력이 있거나, 또는
4)  대학교와 직장경력을 합해서 4년 이상인 경우. 이때 군 복무 경력도 직장경력으로 유효하다.

응시자격을 대학교 4학년생으로 응시했을 경우, Level II 2차 시험을 보기 위해서는 대학교 졸업증이 있어야 한다. 시간 순서로 보아 이것은 지극히 당연한 사항이다, 따라서 학년을 속여서 시험을 보았을 경우, 2차 Level II 시험을 보기 위해서는 졸업 때까지 기다려야 한다. 그러나 군 경력과 대학 재학기간을 합산하는 자격으로 시험을 볼 경우, 이러한 제한은 해당이 안 된다.

마지막으로, 시험을 보기 위해서는 여권을 가지고 있어야 한다. 조금 특이한 자격요건이지만, 국제 자격증이고, 전세계적으로 동시에 시험을 보다 보니 어쩔 수 없이 만든 요건이라 할 수 있다.
